Aptitude First
Aptitude is the natural ability to do something. Core skills like coding and robotics can be assessed at the aptitude level - teaching the skill is a function of time and process.
Behaviour Second
We prioritise resilience, agility and willingness to learn. These behavioural traits are the strongest predictors of learner success.
Qualifications Third
Prior qualifications matter, but they are the last factor we consider. A motivated learner with the right aptitude will outperform a qualified candidate who lacks drive.

Is it really free to register?+
Yes - completely. There is no cost to create a profile, take the aptitude assessment, upload your documents, or access free courses. The platform is funded by Deviare and its enterprise partners to give youth access to opportunity at zero cost.
Do I need to travel for assessments or interviews?+
No travel is required for registration, profile completion or assessments - these are all completed online. Interviews may be conducted virtually; in some cases, you may be required to attend an in-person interview at the Deviare offices.
How do the aptitude assessments work?+
Assessments cover seven areas: Numerical Reasoning (Insights Numerical), Numerical Reasoning (Concepts & Data Analytics), Verbal Reasoning, Abstract / Inductive Reasoning, Critical Thinking, Mechanical Reasoning, and a Personality Questionnaire. They identify which learning paths suit you - not exclude you.
Who qualifies to apply for programmes?+
Eligibility depends on the programme. Learnerships usually require Matric. Internships typically require NQF Level 5+. Graduate programmes usually require a diploma or higher. Free and short courses may not require formal qualifications. Always check the specific requirements per programme.
Can I apply for more than one programme?+
Yes, you may apply for multiple programmes as long as you meet each programme's requirements. However, you can only be selected for one programme.
How long does the recruitment process take?+
Timelines vary by programme but typically take 3 to 6 weeks after application submission. Your profile and assessments are reviewed and shortlisted candidates are contacted for screening or interviews.
Can I apply if I am currently studying or employed?+
Youth Campus sponsored programmes are for candidates who are unemployed and not studying or in another internship/learnership. If you are working or studying, you remain eligible for free courses.
What is a learnership and will I get paid?+
A learnership is a 12-24 month accredited programme combining theoretical learning with workplace experience. It includes an employment contract and a monthly stipend, and leads to a full NQF qualification. Learnerships are competitive - register early.
What if I have no tech experience at all?+
That's perfectly fine and expected. Our assessments are designed to be neutral to digital/tech topics. Most candidates encounter these topics for the first time. We assess aptitude - your natural ability - not existing knowledge.
What documents do I need to upload?+
South African ID, highest qualification certificate, updated CV, proof of bank account, and matric certificate. Proof of disability if applicable. All documents must be clear and submitted in PDF format.
How will I be notified about the status of my application?+
You will be notified via email, SMS, phone call, or through updates on the platform under the programme you applied for.

Why are background checks required?+
Background checks are conducted on shortlisted candidates only and cover ID, qualification, bank account and criminal record verification. They eliminate fraud and protect all parties - including you as a learner.
